FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the best time to go on a safari in Tanzania?
While Tanzania offers incredible wildlife viewing year-round, the “Dry Season” (late June to October) is generally considered the best time to see the Great Migration and the Big Five. For those looking to climb Kilimanjaro, January to March and June to October offer the clearest skies.
Can I customize my safari itinerary?
Absolutely. At Make My Safari, we specialize in tailor-made experiences. Whether you want a luxury honeymoon in Zanzibar, a private family safari in the Serengeti, or a rugged trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, we can adjust every detail to match your pace, budget, and interests.
What is the difference between a private safari and a group tour?
A private safari gives you exclusive use of the 4×4 vehicle and your own dedicated professional guide, allowing for a flexible schedule. Group tours are pre-scheduled and shared with other travelers. Most of our clients prefer private safaris for a more intimate and personalized “Big Five” experience.
Is it safe to climb Mount Kilimanjaro with Make My Safari?
Safety is our top priority. We provide expert, certified guides, high-quality camping equipment, and oxygen monitoring for all climbs. We also recommend routes with better acclimatization profiles, such as the 7-day Rongai or Lemosho routes, to ensure a high summit success rate.
What should I pack for a Tanzania safari and beach holiday?
We recommend “safari chic” — neutral-colored, breathable clothing for the parks and plenty of sun protection. Since many of our trips include a transition from the dusty savannah to the beaches of Zanzibar, we provide all our clients with a detailed, comprehensive packing list upon booking.
Do I need a visa or specific vaccinations to visit Tanzania?
Most international visitors require a visa, which can be obtained online (E-visa) or upon arrival. Regarding health, we recommend consulting your local travel clinic for advice on Yellow Fever and Malaria precautions. Our team is available 24/7 to assist you with the latest travel requirements and documentation.
What is included in the price of a Make My Safari package?
We believe in transparent, value-driven pricing. Our packages typically include boutique or luxury accommodations, all park fees, professional English-speaking guides, 4×4 safari vehicles with pop-up roofs, and all meals while on safari. International flights and personal insurance are usually handled separately, though we can assist with arrangements.
